Force Sensor

Use Brain Products’s latest peripheral physiology sensor to measure changes in force that a research participant exerts during an experiment.  The Force Sensor can be used to measure timing and relative amplitude changes in force-related activities.

Equipped with the Brain Products standard 5-pol Binder plug, the Force Sensor pre-amplifier can be plugged into the AUX ports on the front of an actiCHamp Plus, into a LiveAmp STE Compact or LiveAmp STE Classic, or the AUX ports of a BrainAmp ExG AUX Box.

Some example use cases include those listed below.

Ask us how you might start measuring relative force changes in your experiments today!

Gait Analysis

  • Placing the force sensor transducer under the heel of the participant, you can create triggers based on their steps taken.
  • A Force Sensor is depicted attached to a participant's ankle with the force transducer located below their heel to help measure timing of heel striker in a gait experiment.

Reaction times

  • Place the force sensor transducer on the participant’s finger tip or under a key/response device and whenever the participant presss the key to respond a trigger marker will be generated.
  • Force Sensor is depicted between a finger tip and a button on a computer keyboard to allow for precise measurement of when force was applied by the finger.
