NIRx Spring Loaded Grommets

For high quality, low-noise fNIRS recordings, optodes needs to make firm and constant contact with the subject’s scalp in an easy-to-setup and comfortable way. NIRx developed spring loaded grommets to address this need with four (4) levels of spring strength:

• Apply zero tension tops to probes on the forehead or on sensitive child populations.
• Apply low and medium tension tops to probes covered by some hair or where a subject may be ambulating.
• Apply high tension tops to probes that have thick layers of hair to fight through.
